Our Story

chandi’s great great grandfather NICOLA luigi scaffetti immigrated from vasto, italy to batavia, new york in the early 1900’s where he opened his restaurant and bar named the hideaway. his son louis nicholas scaffetta, chandi’s great grandfather moved to chickasha, OKLAHOMA WHEre HE STARTED HIS RESTAURANT NAMED LUIGI’S AND THEN A FOOD TRUCK IN 1963 THAT SERVED HOT DOGS, BBQ, PIZZA, AND SODA. CHANDI AND HER HUSBAND KEITH STARTED WORKING IN THE FOOD TRUCK INDUSTRY IN 2019 WHEN THEY STARTED A HOT DOG CART WITH FRESH SQUEEZED LEMONADE. AFTER THEY MOVED TO FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA THEY STARTED BONDI BOWLS IN THAT LOCATION AS WELL AS THEIR CATERING COMPANY. THEY WEREN’T ACTIVELY LOOKING BUT EVERYTHING STARTED LINING UP FOR THEM TO START A RESTAURANT OF THEIR OWN AND CHANDI DECIDED SHE WANTED TO BRING THAT SAME AUTHENTIC ITALIAN CUISINE TO FLAGSTAFF TO SHARE WITH THE COMMUNITY. WE PRIDE OURSELVES IN THE DISHES WE PREPARE AND EVERYTHING IS MADE WITH THE FRESHEST INGREDIENTS AND PROCESSES IN MIND. WE MAKE ALL OF OUR PASTA AND SAUCES FROM SCRATCH. SOME OF THEM ARE FAMILY RECIPES AND SOME ARE CREATIONS THAT CHANDI AND KEITH HAVE COME UP WITH TO MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE REALLY DINING IN ITALY.
